The Stifani twins set out to conquer the world under the mantle of the legendary Spielberg. “Even though we travel the world seeking our artistic expression, our thoughts always return to Italy, particularly to our home town of Neviano, where we were born and grew up with strong, simple and genuine ideals.”

Twins Luca and Gabriele Stifani, professionally known as “Stifani Bross”, directors and producers for “Pinta production”, have lived in London for several years. This Christmas they have flown to Tokyo for work.

“We are physically distant, but not in spirit,” they add, “and we cannot forget the love we learnt in our family. To everyone from Salento, and everyone searching for a voice of their own, we wish an intense year full of emotion.” Although Italy still faces a climate of crisis and sadness, the twins hope Italians can look ahead with optimism: “Passions and desires must not be trampled on; they must be realised through commitment and dedication.”

As they send greetings to their young nieces and nephews, they recall the importance of seeing reality through children’s eyes. “Dreaming and playing are part of life and help us understand its true meaning.” They also tell their fellow Salentini that they will return in May to perform This Is That at the Koreja theatres in Lecce. There is more: 2014 will be a special year for Luca and Gabriele. “We will be involved in producing an international film in which we will feature next summer.” The film is The Devil on Wheels, a documentary celebrating Duel, Steven Spielberg’s first film. Spielberg, they add, is already aware of the project.

Stifani “twins” alla conquista del mondo sotto il mantello del mitico Spielberg. «Anche se siamo in giro per il mondo alla ricerca della nostra espressione artistica, il pensiero va sempre all’Italia, in particolar modo al nostro paese d’origine, Neviano, dove siamo nati e cresciuti con ideali forti, semplici e genuini».

I gemelli Luca e Gabriele Stifani, in arte «Stifani Bross», registi e produttori per la «Pinta production», vivono a Londra da diversi anni e per queste festività natalizie sono volati a Tokyo per motivi di lavoro.

«Siamo distanti con il corpo ma non con lo spirito – aggiungono – e non possiamo dimenticare l’amore che ci è stato insegnato in famiglia. A tutti i salentini e a tutti coloro che sono alla ricerca di una propria voce, auguriamo di vivere un anno intenso e pieno di emozioni». Anche se nel Belpaese tira ancora aria di crisi e tristezza, i gemelli Stifani si augurano che gli italiani possano guardare al futuro con ottimismo: «Le passioni e i desideri non vanno calpestati, si devono realizzare con impegno e dedizione».

Nel salutare i loro nipotini ricordano come sia importante osservare la realtà con gli occhi dei più piccoli. «Perché sognare e giocare fa parte della vita e ci fa capire il vero senso della vita». E ai tanti conterranei, inoltre, annunciano che quest’anno ritorneranno a maggio per esibirsi in uno spettacolo, dal titolo «This Is That» nei teatri Koreja di Lecce. Ma non finisce qui. Il 2014 sarà per Luca e Gabriele un anno particolare: «Saremo impegnati nella produzione di un film internazionale che ci vedrà protagonisti durante la prossima estate». La pellicola si intitola «The devil on wheels», un documentario che celebrerà Duel, il primo film di Steven Spielberg che, tra l’altro, è già al corrente del progetto.

Les jumeaux Luca et Gabriele Stifani, connus sous le nom de « Stifani Bross », réalisateurs et producteurs pour « Pinta production », vivent à Londres depuis plusieurs années. Pour ces fêtes de Noël, ils se sont envolés à Tokyo pour le travail.

En saluant leurs jeunes neveux et nièces, ils rappellent l’importance de regarder le monde avec les yeux des enfants. « Rêver et jouer font partie de la vie et nous en révèlent le véritable sens. » Ils annoncent aussi à leurs compatriotes leur retour en mai pour jouer This Is That aux théâtres Koreja de Lecce. Mais ce n’est pas tout : 2014 sera une année particulière pour eux. « Nous participerons à la production d’un film international dont nous serons les protagonistes l’été prochain. » Le film, The Devil on Wheels, est un documentaire célébrant Duel, premier film de Steven Spielberg, qui est déjà informé du projet.

「Stifani Bross」の名で活動する双子のルカとガブリエーレ・スティファニは、「Pinta production」の監督・プロデューサーで、数年前からロンドンに暮らす。このクリスマス休暇には、仕事のため東京へ飛んだ。

「体は離れていても、心は離れていません」と二人は続ける。「家族に教わった愛を忘れることはできません。サレントのみなさん、そして自分の声を探す人すべてに、充実した、感動に満ちた一年を願います」。イタリアにはなお危機や悲しみの空気が漂うが、兄弟は人々が楽観的に未来を見られるよう願う。「情熱や願いは踏みにじられるべきではありません。努力と献身によって実現するものです」。

幼い甥や姪にあいさつを送りながら、子どもの目で現実を見る大切さにも触れる。「夢を見ることや遊ぶことは人生の一部で、本当の意味を教えてくれます」。故郷の人々には、5月にレッチェのコレヤ劇場で『This Is That』を上演するため帰郷すると知らせる。それだけではない。2014年は二人にとって特別な年になる。「来夏、僕たち自身も登場する国際映画の制作に取り組みます」。作品名は『The Devil on Wheels』。スティーヴン・スピルバーグ最初の映画『激突！』をたたえるドキュメンタリーで、監督本人も既に企画を知っているという。
